Allan Martin, a remarkable 98-year-old track and field athlete, competed in both the discus throw and the 400m dash today.
He competes at various events at the Pan American Masters Games 2024 in Cleveland. His incredible effort to race between venues to participate in these different events exemplifies his extraordinary dedication and stamina.
Under warm and humid conditions, Martin faced a challenging transition from the demanding 400m dash to the discus throw. Despite the physical toll, he accomplished this feat with determination and grace. Sergey Bubka, President of the IMGA, was there to admire and witness his determination and inspirational performances.

Makoto Chogahara and Kate Caithness, former President of the World Curling Federation and both board members of the IMGA, joined him to hand out medals for several ceremonies.
