Abu Dhabi truly prioritizes the well-being of its residents by promoting physical activity and community engagement through various events.
On Sunday 21 April 2024, the IMGA had the privilege to witness and participate in the ‘Cycling your way to health and happiness’ event, by the presence of our President Sergey Bubka and CEO Jens Holm. It was a truly inspiring event and great to see so many individuals coming together to prioritize their health and happiness through cycling. The event was held at one of the venues that will be used for the Cycling competition during the Open Masters Series 2026.
Events like these not only enhance the quality of life for the local population but also reflect Abu Dhabi’s commitment to fostering a healthy and active lifestyle. It is a wonderful reminder of the importance of taking care of our physical and mental well-being.
These events play a significant role in promoting community engagement and quality of life in Abu Dhabi by encouraging residents to be physically active, connect with others, and explore their city in a fun and healthy way. These types of events bring people together from different backgrounds and ages, fostering a sense of community and social cohesion.
Additionally, they help raise awareness about the importance of leading an active lifestyle and the various benefits of cycling, such as improved physical fitness, mental well-being, and reduced stress levels. By participating in such events, residents are also likely to feel more connected to their city and motivated to lead healthier, more active lives, leading to an overall improvement in their quality of life.
President Sergey Bubka congratulated the Abu Dhabi Sports Council on the event: “It was most enjoyable to participate in this community activation event organised into age categories in the true masters tradition. To see the quality of the organisation and the venues, confirm that the IMGA event here in 2026 will be spectacular.”
The IMGA is looking forward to further prepare together with the Organising Committee to deliver great Masters Games in 2026 for the Masters Community.
