My name is Vishwaraj, but you can call me Vish or Wish. I hail from the vibrant province of Gujarat in India. Interestingly, in my language, there’s a single word for both ice and snow—BARAF. I come from a family deeply rooted in athleticism, spanning three generations.
My love affair with speed skating began as a natural extension of my family’s athletic legacy. The thrill of gliding on ice, the wind rushing past me, and the sheer speed became irresistible. Speed skating offers a unique blend of physical prowess and technical finesse, and it was this combination that captured my heart.

I discovered the World Winter Masters Games (WWMG) Lombardy 2024 through my passion for speed skating and a dedicated pursuit of opportunities to showcase my skills on an international stage. The event’s reputation for bringing together top-notch athletes from around the world and its commitment to fostering a spirit of camaraderie drew me in. I was determined to be part of this prestigious competition and showcase the culmination of my years of dedication to speed skating. Additionally last edition i had won 4 medals 3 silver and 1 bronze this time around i intend to improve on that!

For someone who has never competed before, my advice would be to embrace the experience with an open mind and a resilient spirit. Understand that competition is not solely about winning but about personal growth and pushing your limits. Enjoy the process, savor every moment, and use the opportunity to learn from both victories and defeats. Remember, every competition is a chance to become a better version of yourself.
