Do you know where the longest hole for golf in the world is located? Well you might have guessed it, it’s in North Jeolla Province (Jeollabuk-do) of South Korea at the Gunsan Country Club.
Gunsan consists of 81 holes and is built on an abandoned salt field where you will find plenty of water around, so make sure to bring some extra golf balls as well. It is the only course in Korea where all the holes are surrounded by lakes; around 380 acres or 36% of the course is comprised of lakes, and the holes are connected by 26 bridges. There’s a 661-meter (723-yard) par 6 which is pretty long hole, but that pales in comparison to the property’s par-7, which is located at the Jeongeup Course: 9-hole 36-par which measures 1004-meters.
The ambitious work was designed by world-renowned course designer Neil Howard for the first time in Korea. Are you ready to take on this challenge?
The Organising Committee of APMG 2023 and the IMGA would like to invite you to the Asia-Pacific Masters Games 2023 Jeonbuk Korea with 26 Sports Programs where the sporting event for golf is taking place
at this Gunsan Country Club. Whether you are a big hitter or not, this challenge at this monstrous par-7 hole can be a challenge for anyone! Don’t wait to add this experience to your bucket list and start organising your trip today!
