The IMGA held their AGM on Monday the 15th of November. During this meeting Acting President Sergey Bubka has shared an update on the activities of the IMGA during the past year, and the key areas where the IMGA will focus the coming year.

The IMGA is committed to good governance and sustainability. Over the past year several working groups were established to focus on this in various business areas. A proposal, including changes to gender equality, term length and independency in the constitution, was presented and approved unanimously.

These approved changes will help the IMGA to continue to grow with the expertise needed in the Board and is in line with IMGA’s vision on gender equality in sports.

The meeting saw the election of two important positions to the IMGA. IOC Vice – President Ser Miang Ng and IOC Member Sari Essayah were elected to the Executive Board.

In the past year two new hosts became part of the IMGA family: The city of Cleveland, Ohio who will be hosting the 2024 Pan-American Masters games and the region of Lombardy in Italy hosting 2024 World Winter Masters Games.

All host cities presented a progress report on their events and the International Powerlifting Federation was accepted as associate member to the IMGA.

I am super delighted with today’s meeting and looking forward to start this journey with our members and host cities,” Mr. Sergey Bubka said. “With these changes we will be able to continue to strengthen the master’s movement in line with good governance.”
