On July 13, Cleveland stepped into the international spotlight as it played host to the grand welcome ceremony of the Pan American Masters Games. Athletes from 79 countries marched downtown, bringing a vibrant atmosphere of cultures.

The ceremony kicked off with an inspiring parade that saw athletes from every corner of the globe celebrating through the streets of Cleveland. The parade not only showcased the sheer diversity of the participants but also filled the city with a joyous energy and a festive atmosphere. Spectators lined the streets, cheering and waving flags, creating a scene of unity and celebration.

Following the parade, the athletes gathered for a dynamic entertainment program that highlighted the cultural richness and artistic talents of the region. Performers took to the stage in downtown Cleveland, offering captivating music, dance, and artistic displays that further enhanced the celebratory mood of the evening. During the ceremony kind words were spoken by David Gilbert to all people involved in the organisation of the Games. Sergey Bubka, the legendary Ukrainian pole vaulter and President of the IMGA, known for his numerous world records and Olympic gold medal addressed the athletes with words of appreciation: “Thank you all to come together here in Cleveland from over 79 countries to show the world how to live a healthy lifestyle and how to enjoy life through sport. I wish everyone a great week full of sport, friendship and camaraderie and a fantastic time in Cleveland.”  
   
After the ceremony a special meet and greet with Olympic champion Sergey Bubka took place. The legendary Ukrainian pole vaulter and President of the IMGA, known for his numerous world records and Olympic gold medal posed for photos, gave out signatures, much to the delight of the athletes.
