The IMGA is very proud to have Auckland as our next host city for the World Masters Games in 2017. After the tremendous job done by Torino and Sydney during the last Games, thousands of athletes are expected to join us in Auckland from April 21st to 30th, 2017 at the biggest multi sports event in the world.
The Kansai Region in Japan will host the 10th edition of the World Masters Games in spring 2021.
The IMGA has made a dream come true in organizing the first Winter World Masters Games in Bled, Slovenia from from 25th to 31st January. The Games, thanks to the organizing committee, the volunteers and the host cities, were a great success, becoming the biggest winter multi sports event with close to 3000 athletes.
The second edition of the Winter World Masters Games 2015 was held in Quebec City from January 31st to February 8th. With less than a year to prepare the event, the Organising Committee did an amazing job in hosting these Games, that the athletes will remember for a long time. During 10 days, more than 1’500 athletes from all over the world took part in biathlon, curling, ice hockey, short and long track speed skating, marathon skating, alpine skiing, cross-country skiing and triathlon.
The location of the next edition of the Winter World Masters Games to be held in 2019 will be announced later this year.
Over the years 3 European Masters Games were organized - Malmo, Sweden (2008), Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy (2011) and in Nice, France (2015).
In 2016 first Americas Masters Games will be held in Vancouver, Canada.
