/IMGA Board Member: 3rd Term/ Former President of FIBA and member of the IOC Evaluation Commission. Bob Elphinston is the former President of the International Basketball Federation.

Sports administration

Prior to becoming the FIBA president, Bob was the FIBA Oceania President. He is currently a council member in the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF). He has lent his considerable experience to the organisers of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, the Doha 2006 Asian Games, the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games and the London 2012 Olympic Games.

IOC history

In 1991 Bob was appointed General Manager of the Sydney Olympics 200 Bid Company. After helping secure the 2000 Olympic Games Bob was in charge of the smooth running of all aspects of the 28 sports at the 2000 Games. After his commitments with the 2000 Olympic Games concluded Bob was appointed to the Olympic Evaluation Commission by the International Olympic Committee.

Bob has most recently acted as a consultant to the organising committees of the Beijing 2008 Games and the London 2012 Games.
