Kansai, Japan
14 May - 30 May 2027
After two postponements the Kansai Organising Committee and the IMGA have reached an agreement on new dates for the Kansai World Masters Games.

The World Masters Games were due to be held in May 2022 but got postponed for the 2nd time in December 2021 given the Covid-19 situation still not allowing tourism travel into Japan.

It has been a challenge to find new dates for the flagship event of the IMGA. Giving certainty to athletes the event could take place, considering the current IMGA events calendar that has been scheduled for the coming years, and acknowledging the planning of events and weather conditions in Kansai were taken into consideration when looking for a new date.

The event has been rescheduled to May 2027 which means there will be two World Masters Games events within a timeframe of two years. Another World Masters Games event will take place in 2025 in Taipei & New Taipei city.

The IMGA is pleased they can move forward together with the Host City Organising Committees to deliver an outstanding professional event experience to all amateur and pro athletes around the world.
