The farewell celebration of the Pan American Masters Games 2024 marked the end of a memorable and vibrant event, including 24 sports and festive ceremonies.

The day commenced with the exhilarating 5K, 10K, and half marathon road races, which witnessed spirited participation and were a magnificent success.

Following the races, the day transitioned into a series of celebratory medal ceremonies. Athletes enjoyed one last podium moment, reveling in their hard-earned medals and basking in the glory of their achievements. These ceremonies were a testament to the hard work and dedication of the competitors, offering a fitting tribute to their efforts.

   

The official speeches added a touch of festivity and reflection to the occasion. Kate Caithness, an IMGA board member and former President of the World Curling Federation, shared her admiration for the athletes. “What a great week we have enjoyed here in this beautiful part of the world. You, our athletes as always have exemplified the true spirit of the games and are truly the best role models for future generations,” she remarked. Caithness had closely followed several days of curling competitions, much to the appreciation of the curling community.

David Gilbert, CEO of the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, and Junaid from the Junaid Family Foundation also delivered inspiring speeches, underscoring the spirit of unity and perseverance that defined the games. Their words resonated with the themes of fitness, health, and camaraderie that had been evident throughout the week.

Reflecting on the week, it was clear that the best role models in life had showcased their unwavering commitment to fitness and health, forming strong bonds and friendships that transcended borders. The gathering of athletes from around the world was a celebration of not only physical prowess but also the universal values of determination and sportsmanship.

Annie, the sports chair of the curling competition, expressed profound gratitude for Kate Caithness’s presence at the Curling competition: “It truly has been an honor to meet Kate, enjoy the competition of curling together, experience the fun of introducing curling to newbies and working together to present the awards.”
