A momentous event unfolded at the Cleveland Guardians game, marking a milestone for Makoto Chogahara, a board member of the International Masters Games Association (IMGA), who has set up the biggest Masters Baseball tournament in Japan since 2004. As he stood on the mound, ready to throw the ceremonial first pitch, it was clear that this was more than just an honor—it was a dream come true.

As the ball left his hand and flew toward the catcher, Chogahara’s face lit up with pride and joy. For him and many others in attendance, the evening symbolised the unity and spirit of sports, transcending boundaries and bringing people together in celebration. Reminding all of us we need to keep living and do what we love.

Chogahara’s involvement extended beyond the baseball diamond. During the event, he made his second appearance in a Disc Golf competition, showcasing his versatile athletic abilities. His first experience into Disc Golf at the Masters Games had been in Tampere, Finland, highlighting his international experience and passion for diverse sports. He goes home with a bronze medal in his age group.
