Pakistani squash players Fahim Gul and Bilal Zaman had the squash fans in Tampere gasping for
breath as the duo entertained the crowd with long game balls. The duration of one ball was
measured at 56 seconds. In Pakistan, squash is one of the most popular sports.

Bilal has played professionally in the past, but this was his first time playing in the European
Masters Gamess with Fahim. Fahim has Masters experience from the World Masters Games.

“I’ve been following Fahim since junior level, I knew how he played and it was expected to be a
good match, but I still had no chance today”, laughs Bilal.

Despite a close match, Bilal won the match 3-0.

The Pakistani duo are impressed with Finland and the European Masters Games experience in
Tampere.

“We knew that Finland is a great country and the people here are really friendly. We especially
want to enjoy the summer evenings here, but it’s confusing that it doesn’t even get dark in the
evenings”, says Bilal.
