The Lombardia 2024 Winter World Masters Games taking place from 12 – 21 January 2024 will be the 4th IMGA winter multi-sport event.

Recently the IMGA conducted their coordination visit to see the venues and evaluate the progress of the Organising Committee for the games.

The north Italian region is looking forward to welcome thousands of mature athletes to enjoy the sports, gastronomy, beautiful nature, and hospitality they are so very well known for. The World Winter Masters Games have become very popular among winter enthusiasts, as an event to celebrate sport and companionship with people from all over the world.

 

 

President Bubka, who is not able to participate due to the tragedy happening in his home country, said: “I am very sorry I had to excuse myself from this trip, as I am very excited about the Winter Games taking place in the Lombardia region. I am confident these Games will be another successful Winter sports festival and hopefully I’ll be able to visit the region and 2024 Organising Committee soon.”

The full list of sports is as following: Alpine skiing, Biathlon, Cross-Country skiing, Curling, Figure Skating, Ice Hockey, Short Track, Ski Jumping & Nordic Combined, Ski Mountaineering, Ski Orienteering, Snowboard and Speed Skating.

 

 

The sports will be spread out in 4 clusters over the region Lombardia:

Cluster 1

Madesimo: Curling
Chiavenna: Ice hockey

Cluster 2

Chiesa di Valmalenco: Ski orienteering, Snowboard (Parallel & Giant Slalom) and Speed skating (Lake Palù)

Cluster 3

Bormio: Short track and Figure skating

Cluster 4

Ponte di Legno: Alpine skiing (Slalom & Giant Slalom)
Passo del Tonale: Ski mountaineering
Pelizzano: Ski jumping & Nordic combined
Vermiglio: Biathlon and Cross-country skiing

Aprica: Alpine skiing Super G
