2023 will be the year to discover the magic of Tampere, Finland at the 5th edition of the European Masters Games. The program will include 29 sports and will take place from 26 June – 6 July 2023.
Recently Tampere 2023 presented its sports program proposal for the European Masters Games to the IMGA who approved it:
Core sports: Athletics, Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Canoeing, Cycling, Football, Futsal, Golf, Orienteering, Rowing, Shooting, Squash, Table Tennis, Tennis, Triathlon, Volleyball, Beach Volley, Weightlifting
Optional sports: Disc Golf, Floorball, Handball, Inline Hockey, Judo, Karate, Swimming, Demonstration sports: Darts, Petanque, Padel
Para sports: Swimming, Athletics, Sitting Volleyball, Table Tennis
The Masters Games offer an opportunity for mature athletes to compete in their favourite sports, share the love for sports with like-minded people and discover new places. A true sports festival that celebrates friendship, passion and inspiration between sports people.
Since the 1st edition in 2008 in Malmo, the popularity of this event has been steadily growing as more and more adults focus on a healthy lifestyle and enjoy life by integrating sports into their daily routine. The previous edition in Torino gathered over 7500 athletes from all over the world.
With a little more than over a year to go, Tampere 2023 will work together with the IMGA to organise a vibrant and fun sport event for all Masters athletes participating.
