The 2022 Asia Pacific Masters Games in Jeonbuk, Korea have been pushed back to 12 – 20 May 2023 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The event was initially scheduled for June 2022, but is postponed to 1 year after the rescheduled Kansai World Masters Games.
In addition, the official name of the APMG has been changed to `2023 Jeonbuk Asia-Pacific Masters Games` as the event has been postponed to 2023.
The Organising Committee of the Jeonbuk APMG (Chairman Song Ha-jin, Governor of Jeollabuk-do) finalized the postponement of the event through the board of directors of the Jeonbuk APMG Organising Committee’s General Assembly and the International Masters Games Association, as the pandemic situation of COVID-19 continued.
Jens Holm (CEO IMGA) said: “I am delighted to have finalised the new dates for the APMG. It was a complicated process which could not have been resolved without the willingness and great understanding from our friends in Korea”
2023 Jeonbuk Asia-Pacific Masters Games will be held for 9 days from May 12th (Friday) to May 20th (Saturday) in Jeollabuk-do.
The APMG organising committee will take full advantage of the additional time to prepare this festival of sports for all Masters athletes around the world, together with the IMGA.
